Welsh Language Charter

As a Designated Welsh Primary School, Welsh is the school’s language - the language of learning and the language of play. It is the parents choice to send them to us as Welsh speaking parents and non-Welsh speaking parents. As several of the children who start with us are non-Welsh speaking, all effort is made to immerse the children in the language during the early years through play, singing songs, repeating and mimicking. It is always surprising how quickly the children learn and develop the language. By the end of Key Stage 2 the children are fully bilingual to a high standard, and are able to communicate effectively in both languages.

We were successful in gaining the Language Charter's Gold Award in 2019, and have worked diligently to maintain standards ever since.
