What is the role of the governors?

The governors act like the directors of a company making decisions regarding the organisation of the school e.g. financial, staffing issues as well as assist the head to set direction for the school and to complete strategies.

They meet at least once every half term.

The governors help:

• to support the staff of the school
• to set the standard of behaviour
• to interview, appoint and dismiss staff
• to oversee the school expenditure
• to ensure that the National Curriculum is delivered
