Curriculum for Wales

It is an exciting time for schools across Wales with the Curriculm for Wales being adopted since September 2022. Every school has a responsibility to write a curriculum that responds to the needs of its pupils.  There are many aspects to consider when designing a new curriculum, but the basis of all the school’s work are the four purposes.

Our curriculum aims to support the pupils to be:

  • Ambitious, capable learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives. This means that they want to learn and continuously want to improve their skills further, and that with a high standard of Welsh and English on their lips, and a smile on their faces.
  • Healthy, confident individuals, ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society. This means that they develop healthy lifestyles, with a positive mindset about themselves, so they can reach their full potential and contribute positively to society.
  • Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work. This means that they enjoy their work and are able to develop and adapt their skills throughout their lives to respond to technological advances.
  • Ethical, informed citizens who are ready to be citizens of Wales and the world. This means that they are tolerant individuals who understand and respect the views of others, who love Wales and the world.
